Elsie Muriel Bailly 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published:Friday, January 28, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Elsie Muriel Bailly, 134 Pelham Street, Lunenburg, died peacefully Wednesday, January 26, 2000, in Lunenburg. Born at Brookfield Mines, Queens County, she was a daughter of the late John and Waitie (Smith) Mosher. Elsie received her education in Mahone Bay and at Teachers College, Truro. She taught in numerous one room schoolhouses along the South Shore, in particular East Jordan, Tusket, Sable River, Pentz, Mader's Cove, First South, and also in Mahone Bay School. She taught Junior High Science and elementary grades at Centre Consolidated School for a number of years. She was a highly respected, dedicated teacher who was well known for her love of children. She was an active member of the retired Teachers Association and a faithful member of Central United Church, Lunenburg. Elsie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Loving family members are husband, Donald; son, Ronald and wife Betty, Head of St. Margaret's Bay; daughter, Suzanne Bailly, Halifax; grandchildren, Jonathan Dacey, Bloomington, Indiana; Andrew Dacey, Halifax; Margaret, Jennifer Bailly, Head of St. Margaret's Bay; sisters-in-law, Amy Mosher, Mahone Bay; Margaret (Bailly) Stoker, Halifax; brother-in-law, Frank "Bill" Bailly Sr., Halifax; nieces, Helen (Bailly) Bennett, Lunenburg; Arlene Smeltzer, Mader's Cove. She was predeceased by brothers, Roy, Ralph, Harry, Earl in early childhood; sister, Gladys Stroudsburg, Pa.; and her dear brother, Percy Mosher, Mahone Bay. Visitation will be held from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Grace Caines-Corkum officiating at Central United Church, Lunenburg. Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Percy R. Mosher Memorial Fund, Trinity United Church, Mahone Bay or to a charity of your choice, through Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg.
