Lester Roland Russell 1983 Halifax Chronicle Herald Handwritten date: June 5, 1983. Lester Roland Russell, 71, of Hemford, died Sunday in Dawson Memorial Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at Hemford, he was a son of the late Andrew and Helen (Veinot) Russell. Surviving are his wife, the former Lilly Louise Wile; five daughters, Helen Durling, Bramalea, Ontario; Yvonne Varner, Timberlea; Margaret Pearse and Mildred Durling, both of Hemford; and Shirley Gillis, Sackville; two sons, Harry, West Northfield and Mervin, Georgetown, Ontario; three sisters, Doris Haines, United States; Rena Zwicker, Pinehurst; and Lela Conrad; Kentville;13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Florence; three brothers, Hallett, Carl, and Gordon; and three infant brothers. The body is in Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Emmanuel Union Church, Rev. Randy Crozsman officiating, with burial in Hemford Cemetery.
