Ada Harriett Ward 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Friday, February 18, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Ada Harriett Ward, 84, Windsor, Hants County, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2000, in the Windsor Elms. Born at Wile Settlement, she was a daughter of the late John Harrison and Jennie Louise (Hirtle) Wile. She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, Liberal Association, as well as the Upper Vaughan's Baptist Church. Her gentle kind ways brought blessings to friends and family for 84 years. Ada was very devoted to her church and family. She enjoyed the quiet pleasures of life, knitting, reading, playing her organ, and baking (especially her molasses cookies). Ada will be sadly mourned and never forgotten by her loving family. She is survived by daughters, Francena (Mrs. Norman d'Entremont), New Glasgow; Kendra (Mrs. William Russell), Leminster; sons, Harley, Leminster; Clinton, Digby; Melvin, Marin's Point; Rodney, Leminster; twin brother, Emery Wile, Wile Settlement; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Sherman Edward Ward; grandson, James Norman d'Entremont; brothers, Charles, in infancy, Arnold; sisters, Elizabeth and Christina, in infancy; Violet (Mrs. James Brennan), Evelyn (Mrs. Leo Smith), Eula (Mrs. Ralph Caldwell, Hazel (Mrs. Hugh Hartt), Lottie (Mrs. Austin Peach). Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Saturday in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, Rev. Phil Williams officiating. Burial to follow in the Lower Vaughan's Community Cemetery. Donations may be made to Upper Vaughan's United Baptist Church or the Windsor Elms.
