UNKNOWN PAPER - 4 JUNE 1964 IAN WILLIAM CREIGHTON - A largely attended memorial service was held Sunday, May 31 in Sharon United Church, Tatamagouche, for the late Ian William CREIGHTON, age 44, of Tatamagouche, conducted by his minister Rev. R.H. MILLS. Mr. CREIGHTON and his two companions, Ernest BENJAMIN of Truro and Leo PAPINEAU of Dorchester, N.B., were accidentally drowned when their outboard motor boat capsized in the Northumberland Strait. Mr. CREIGHTON was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. CREIGHTON of Tatamagouche. He was a veteran of the R.C.A.F. At the time of the Nova Scotia Creamerymen's Association, and President of the North Colchester Branch of the Canadian Red Cross. He was a Past Master of Keystone Lodge No. 102, A.F. and A.M., Past District Deputy Grant Master of District No 7., a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Halifax. He was Past President of the Tatamagouche Creamery Limited and a member of Sharon United Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Lois MacKAY of Stellarton, and three children Carole, age 19; Ronald, age 13; and Helen, age 11; also his parents and two brothers Dr. AUSTIN of Tatamagouche and J. Mervyn of Halifax
