OBIT # 5673 - EVENING NEWS - 23 JANUARY 1973 Stellarton- One of this town's senior citizens, Mrs. Erma D. Sibille Bastin, Bridge Ave., died Sunday in the Aberdeen Hospital at the age of 93. Born in Couillet, Belgium, a daughter of the late Joseph and Celistine (Peereman) DeBoldt, she came to Canada where she ran a grocery store till 1925 retiring then and returning to her native Belgium. She remained there till after the Second World War when she returned and has resided in this area ever since. Mrs. Bastin was an adherent of Sharon-St.John United Church. She is survived by one daughter Bertha (Mrs. Peter LaChambre), Stellarton, and by three sons; Jules (Benny) Sibille, Stellarton; Hector John Sibille, Mt. William; and Victor L. Sibille, Westville Road; and by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; also by two sisters, Amelia (Mrs. John Melisse), Stellarton and Paldine (Mrs. Joseph Jonard), California. She was predeceased by her first husband Pierre Remy Sibille in 1913, and by her second husband Vital Bastin in 1950, also by three sisters and four brothers. The remains are resting at the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held on Wednesday at 2pm. Interment will be in Thorburn Cemetery.
