    3. Ernest Alonzo Whynot 1958 Bridgewater Bulletin Funeral services were held here (Springfield) this afternoon for the late Ernest A. Whynot, 74 year old well-known resident of this community, where he and his wife (nee Myra McNayr of Lake Pleasant), took up residence seven years ago, when Mr. Whynot's failing health, following a stroke from which he only partially recovered, compelled him to retire from active business life permanently. Previous to that time, the Whynots had resided in Saint John and Liverpool, where Mr. Whynot was employed in mercantile business. Mr. Whynot was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Whynot and was born at Upper Northfield. His wife died a little less than two years ago. Left to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate father are his two daughters, Leila, wife of Renford Best, of Springfield; in whose home Mr. and Mrs. Whynot have for the past seven years been tenderly cared for; and Betty, R.N., wife of Clyde Stevens, of Saint John. Mrs. Stevens has, as frequently as was possible, come to help her sister care for their parents during their illnesses over a period of years. Mr. Whynot died early in the morning of Monday, March 10, 1958, and funeral services were conducted March 12, by his pastor, Lic. F.D. Chase, who spoke words of comfort to those who mourn the loss of father, friend, and neighbour. Surviving also are three grandchildren and two brothers, Freeman and Titus Whynot, both in the United States. The pall-bearers were Asaph Varner, Stnaley Charlton, Hamilton DeMone, Garfield Conrad, Maxwell Weaver, and Burpee Mailman. The flowers were lovely. Hymns sung by the choir were "Face to Face" and "In The Sweet By and By."Burial took place in the Springfield Cemetery, beside his wife. Sympathy is expressed for the daughters, their families, and all others whose hearts are saddened by the death of this kindly man who had many friends throughout the countryside and beyond. Mr. Whynot was predeceased by several brothers and one sister, Estella (Mrs. Tretheway) of New Germany.
