UNKNOWN PAPER -27 JUNE 1950 PHOEBE MURDOCK - Central New Annan - The death occurred at noon, Saturday, June 17, of one of the Maritimes oldest residents, Mrs. Phoebe MURDOCK, in her 108th year. Her death occurred at the home of Malcolm THOMPSON where she was tenderly cared for during the past few years. Her death removes one well beloved not only in this community but throughout the surrounding district where she was held in high regard. Her life span covering a period of nearly 11 decades, saw many changes and her death removes one of the last links with the days of wooden ships and iron men. The funeral was held from the Central New Annan Church on Monday, June 19, at 2 p.m. Rev. Garfield BRUCE officiating, assisted by Lic. Donald Mac(...). Hymns sung were "The Lord's My Shepherd, "Lead Kindly Light," and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye." Pall bearers were: Eugene SWAN, Charlie LANGILLE, Ted LANGILLE, Louis LANGILLE, Fred CAMERON and Lorne MURDOCK. Interment was in the cemetery at Waugh's River.
