Elsie Catherine Silver 2005 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Elsie Catherine Silver, 94, Martin's Brook, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 10, 2005, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Garden Lots, she was a daughter of the late Freeman and Adelaide (Zinck) Walters. Elsie worked on the family farm for most of her life and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg. Elsie was a lady who knew a hard day's work, was always willing to lend a helping hand and to those who knew her, a true friend. She had a strong determination for life and always had a great sense of humour. Aunt Elsie is survived by her niece, Madelyn P. Hebb, Martin's Brook and grandnephews, Kenneth Hebb and Steven Hebb, with whom she resided the last 14 years. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great great-nieces and great great-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Nathan; brothers, Fred, Charles; sisters, Eva, Florence, Sadie, Laura, Luetta, Jennie, and Marion. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, with visiting 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, Rev. Ed Bastian officiating. Interment will be in Garden Lots Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Garden Lots Cemetery.
