OBIT # 8029 - EVENING NEWS - 18 JUNE 1970 Lourdes- Richard Joseph Scully, St. Bernard St., died early Thursday morning in the Aberdeen Hospital where he had been a patient since receiving injuries in a car accident three weeks ago. Born in Stellarton 63 years ago, a son of the late Thomas and Sarah (MacMillan) Scully, he had been employed by Acadia Coal Co., for a number of years and at the time of his death was a fitter with Trenton Industries. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Surviving is a daughter, Winnifred (Mrs. T.W. Hope), Cold Lake, Alta; four sons: Joseph, MacPherson's Mills; Frederick Portage La Prairie; Richard, Comox, B.C.;Bernard in Edmonton; three sisters: Miss Gertrude Scully, Lourdes; Sister Elizabeth, Port Hawkesbury; Sister Flora, Halifax; and two brothers: John in Waltham, Mass.; and Andrew in Lourdes. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Catherine Grant, three years ago, and also by a sister and a brother. The remains will rest at the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Acadia Ave., after 7 this evening and the funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m.from Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
