Milton Lewellyn Fancy 2006 Halifax Chronicle Herald Publication date: Tuesday, August 22, 2006. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Milton Lewellyn Fancy, 67, Middle Cornwall, passed away August 19, 2006, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Lower Cornwall, he was a son of Clarence and Helen (Dimmell) Fancy of Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg. At the age of 14, Milton began his working career with Lawrence Veinotte of Middle Cornwall, now his brother-in-law; later with Maurice Bruhm Lumber Mill, Middle Cornwall, and then with the former Nathan Joudrey and Sons and Dafron Industries, both in Blockhouse 25 years ago. Milton struck out on his own, founding and operating Milton Fancy & Sons Oars and Paddles. He was a faithful member of New Cornwall United Baptist Church where, over the years he was an usher, a member of the finance committee, bell ringer, and choir member. Besides his parents, Milton is survived by his wife, Melba (Veinotte); sons, Carson (Lorna Harris and her daughter Ashleigh), Bedford; Van, Middle Cornwall,(Janice Dares and her daughter, Angie (Billy LeBlanc); her grandchildren, Devin and Mackenzie and her son, Bub Dares); sister, Marguerite Barkhouse, Lower Cornwall; brother, Arnold (Diane), Clearland; nieces and nephews; many, many good friends. No visiting by request. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, in New Cornwall United Baptist Church, Rev. Lloyd Gillieo officiating. Burial of ashes will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to The Stained Glass Window Fund of New Cornwall United Baptist Church.
