OBIT # 8022 - EVENING NEWS - 18 FEB 1960 Stellarton- George Edwin Semple, Hoyt Ave., passed away this morning in the Aberdeen Hospital following major surgery. He had been ill for the past two months. He was born in Stellarton 39 years ago, went to school here and was an employee of the Acadia Coal Co. He was a member of Sharon St. John United Church. Mr. Semple is survived by his mother, Mrs. David Semple; six brothers: Harvey, Sam, Raymond and Gordon at home; Arthur at Middle River, David in New Glasgow; eight sisters: Ola (Mrs. Frank MacNeil), Georgie and Lillian, at home; Isabel (Mrs. Robert Stewart), and Hazel (Mrs. Mel Gadd) in Stellarton, Mary (Mrs. Wilfred Pitts) and Joan in Oakville, Ont.; and Gwen in Toronto. His father predeceased him in 1944. The remains are resting at his late home on Hoyt Ave. The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
