Born in Centreville, Cape Sable Island, Shelburne County, he was a son of Harold Hurlburt, Yarmouth and Elizabeth (Ross) Hurlburt, Deerfield. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 61, Yarmouth. He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He was also an avid outdoorsman. Surviving are daughters, Marjorie, Melbourne, Yarmouth County; Melissa, Yarmouth; son, Timothy, Melbourne; brothers, Gerald, Gary, Deerfield; Richard, South Ohio; sisters, Patricia Baker, South Ohio; Cathy Hurlburt, Brooklyn, Yarmouth County; four grandchildren. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, Legion service 7:30 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Thursday, all in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. A.D. "Bill" Newell officiating. Burial in Carleton Cemetery.
