Louis Joseph Doucette 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Saturday, February 1, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Louis Joseph Doucette 74, Springhaven, Yarmouth County, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2003, in Yarmouth. Born December 12, 1928, in Springhaven, he was a son of the late Louis Arthur and Sylvia Ann (Muise) Doucette. He was a carpenter. As a young man, Louis served for a brief time with the Canadian Army. Louis was as avid crib player having won many trophies. He was also an avid pool player and he loved to fish. Surviving are his former wife, Yvonne Veronica (Muise) Doucette; children, Linda (Bill) Sisco, Yarmouth; Ron (Ellen) Doucette, Rockville; Della (Kevin) McCullum, Bill (Bonnie) Doucette,Rena (Sandy) McCall, all of Yarmouth; Pastor Allen (Wanda) Doucette, Saint John; Marilee (Pastor Jeff) Cleveland, St. Stephen, New Brunswick; Michale (Karen) Doucette, Woodstock, New Brunswick; brother, Walter (Sylvia) Doucette, Springhaven; sister, Eda (Ulysses) Melanson, Springhaven; 25 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Clarence, Laurie, and a brother in infancy. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. Monday, February 3, all in H.M. Huskilson's Memorial Chapel, Yarmouth, Pastor Orel Stuart officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Agnes Parish Cemetery, Quinan. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
