Verna Mina Louise Bond 2005 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Verna Mina Louise Bond, 78, Chester, died peacefully in her sleep on May 24, 2005, in the Transtitional Care Unit of the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Stellarton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas andd Rhoda (MacDonald) MacPherson. She was a lifetime charter member of the Ladies Fireside Club, Chester. Verna is survived by sons, Terrance (Kathy), Welsford, New Brunswick; Eric Jr. (Judy), Glen (Gail), Kevin, Robin (Debra), Bruce (Linda), all of Chester; daughters, Holly (Blake) Chandler, Chester; Elaine (Ira) Sawler, Western Shore; Melanie (Layton) Gilroy, Elmsdale; stepdaughter, Gloria (Abe) Younis, Oakland, Mahone Bay; 11 grandchildren (especially Tammy who lived with her); four stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several step great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Lambert, Stoney Creek; Alda Henderson, Bedford; Winnifred MacPherson, Truro. She greatly loved cats all her life and will be missed by her beloved Freddy and Miss McGoo. She was predeceased by her husband, Eric Bond Sr.; son, Roger and daughter, Gloria-Dawn Chisholm; sister, Doris Peck. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday in St. Stephen's Anglican church, Chester with Father Jim McCorriston officiating. Burial in Bayview Cemetery, Chester.
