OBIT # 8285 - EVENING NEWS - 10 MARCH 1969 Stellarton- One of this town's senior citizens and a long-time resident, Roderick Daniel Chisholm, died on Saturday at his home on Park Street. Mr. Chisholm was 84 years old and was born at Blue Mountain, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Chisholm.He was a member and one of the senior elders of First Presbyterian Church and was also a member of Fuller Lodge No.5 IOOF. Mr. Chisholm had been employed by Pictou County Bus services for well over fifty years and had been retired for the past nine years. Surviving are two daughters: Laura (Mrs. James D. MacInnes), Barrie, Ont.; Jean (Mrs. Ralph Murray), Stellarton; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; also a brother Fred Chisholm, Truro; and a sister Mary (Mrs.Irving Reeves), New Glasgow. Twice married, he was predeceased by both wives, Mary Ellen Ross and Elizabeth Belle MacDonald, also by two brothers, Robert and Harold. The remains are resting at his late residence and the funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 2 at 2 p.m. from First Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. D. Neil McCombie. Interment will be in Blue Mountain.
