UNKNOWN PAPER - MRS. GEORGE SHEARER 1941. Tatamagouche Mountain, Jan. 11 - The community was saddened when hearing of the passing away on Jan. 4, one of our most highly respected citizens, a kind wife and loving mother, Mrs. George SHEARER. She was Annie SUTHERLAND of the Falls and last year, Mr. and Mrs. SHEARER celebrated with their friends, their 35th wedding Anniversary. Mrs. SHEARER had just passed her 63rd birthday. Although not in good health for a number of years, her sudden death, after three days severe illness was a great shock as she spent a pleasant New Years day as hostess, when her daughter, Mrs. Walter WALL and family and others were her guests. Near evening she was stricken and never recovered. Mrs. SHEARER was always in a happy frame of mind, kind and obliging. She is survived by her loving husband and daughter Lillian, also one son Baxter, another son Elmon predeceased her 12 years ago, another one very near to her was a nephew James LANGILLE. There are also 6 grandchildren, Ronald, Carl, Guy, Douglas, Alvin and Katherine WALL. There are also seven sisters and three brothers, Mrs. J.R. MacKAY, Mrs. Peter SUTHERLAND, Mrs. Hugh SUTHERLAND, Mrs. Geo. W. MacKAY, Miss Margaret SUTHERLAND, Mr. William SUTHERLAND and Norman SUTHERLAND all of Earltown, and Mr. Murdock SUTHERLAND, Mrs. Robert GREY and Mrs. Jack CREIGHTON in the Canadian West. The funeral service was conducted by R.P. MURRAY, a male choir with Mrs. H.H. MacNUTT organist, sang "The Lords my Shepherd," "Throw out the Life Line" and "When The Roll Call Is Called Up Yonder". Pallbearers were Havelock McNUTT, Arnold McCALLUM, Harry LANGILLE, and Audrey TUCKER. Interment was made in Tatamagouche Mountain Cemetery.
