    3. UNKNOWN PAPER - MRS. ARTHUR TUCKER 1939. The community was saddened when on Wednesday morning it was learned that Janie (KENNEDY) TUCKER wife of Arthur TUCKER had passed to her eternal rest. For almost two years she had been confined to her bed and had been a great sufferer but her suffering had been borne with great Christian patience and fortitude. She had been very tenderly cared for during this time by her granddaughters Mrs. George SNOW, Phyliss and Vera TUCKER and they did all which could possibly be done for her. A few days before her passing she was taken ill with flu and in her weakened condition she was not able to overcome it, and on Wednesday morning she passed through the dark valley to be with her master on that brighter shore where suffering and sorrow are no more. Throughout her life she was one of the good women of the community and filled an important place in church and community work, as well as in the home. The funeral was held from her late home on Friday at 2 p.m. and was very largely attended. Her pastor Rev. R.P. MURRAY spoke comforting words from Psalm 121 "I will lift up mine eyes into the hills from whence cometh my help". The hymns sung were favorites of the deceased "The Lords my Shepherd" and "The Old Rugged Cross". She leaves to mourn their loss besides her husband, three daughters and five sons. Mrs. Stanley MATHESON (MURIEL) The Falls, Mrs. Phillip DEWAR (Leta), Bible Hill, Mrs. Hollis CURTINES (Florence), Jamaica Plains, Herbert, Hartford Conn., Calvin, Boston, Mass., twin sons Ross and Ray in the Canadian West and Aubrey at home. She also leaves a large number of grandchildren and one great grandchild. The pallbearers were Hugh GORDEN and Elmond BAILEY and Earl McNUTT. The floral tributes were many and beautiful which testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held. Remains were laid to rest in the McNUTT Cemetery Tatamagouche Mountain.
