Edna Hope Spidell 2010 Halifax Chronicle Herald Edna Hope Spidell, 83, Auburndale, passed away on May 21, 2010, in Hillside Pines Nursing Home, Bridgewater, where she had been residing. Born at Midville Branch, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Violet Grace (Wagner) Meisner. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgewater. Surviving are daughters, LaVerne Cartwright, Upper LaHave; Carolyn McIntyre, Dartmouth; Leah (Linden) Tanner, Grafton; Yvonne Crouse, Auburndale; sons, Laurie, Paul, both of Midville Branch; Lee (Joan), British Columbia; Allen, Auburndale; sisters, Patricia Joudrey, Watford; Agnes (Jimmy) Clinton, Chester Basin; brother, Larry (Linda) Meisner, Truro; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceaased by husband, Walter; sister, Pauline Selig; brothers, Ken, Mac, and Douglas; son-in-law, Darrell Crouse. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater; and where funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Pastor Paul Jensen officiating. Burial will follow in Midville Branch Cemetery, Midville Branch. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to charity of choice.
