John Willis Corkum 2008 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Thursday, October 30, 2008. >From the collection of Gwen Christie John Willis Corkum, 81, West LaHave, passed away October 24, 2008, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at West LaHave, he was a son of the late Willis and Nellie (Conrad) Corkum. He served with the merchant marines during the Second World War. He is survived by his daughter, Susan, Kingston; sisters, Mae Stevens (Randolph), Second Peninsula; Lillian Corkum, Bridgewater; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Isabel; brother, Byron; sisters, Arleen and Bernice. Cremation has taken place under the direction of R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. There will be no visitation in the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
