Rosa P. Porter 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Gwen Christie Rosa P. Porter, 86, Mahone Bay, died November 28, 2000, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Feltzen South, she was a daughter of the late Weldon and Maggie (Spindler) Spindler. She was a member of Trinity United Church, Mahone Bay. She is survived by daughter, Catherine Reid, Lakeside, Halifax County; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Emily Carver, Ottawa; Lucille Grimm, Stellarton; Jennie McDonald, Dartmouth; brothers, Clyde, Whitby, Ontario; Garnet, Blandford; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas; sister, Dora; brother, Marvin. No visiting by request. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity United Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Heather Hemming officiating. Burial will be in the Feltzen South Cemetery. Donations may be made to the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or any charity. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay.
