Douglas Alfred Beck 2005 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Douglas Alfred Beck, 95, Upper LaHave, passed away December 15, 2005, in the Veterans' Unit, Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Dawson and Elizabeth (Redmond) Beck. He was a member of St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, Middle LaHave and the Masonic Lodge Temple No. 57, Mulgrave. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving in the Royal Canadian Navy and a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24, Bridgewater. Surviving are his wife, the former Kathleen Bolivar; daughter, Pauline Houston (George), Wileville; son, Harold (Elaine), Middle LaHave; sister, Ellen Atwood (Doward), Bridgewater; granddaughter, Nadine Murray (Kevin), Toronto; grandson, Allan Clark (Vicki), Upper LaHave; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Shana, and Christine Clark; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Thomas, Ray and two in infancy. There will be no visitation in the funeral home. Memorial service 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, Middle LaHave, Rev. Douglas Chard officiating. Burial in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Upper LaHave. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church or South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Arrangements entrusted to R.A. Corkum Funeral Home , Wileville.
