Robert Calvin Tanner 2005 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Robert Calvin Tanner passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg, on Wedneday, October 26, 2005, at the age of 75. Robert went fishing at an early age, later working at Powers Brothers and Lunenburg Electric Limited. After he retired, he was a friend to many who required his knowledge and Uncle Robbie to his nephews and nieces. He is survived by his wife, Vivian; daughter, Gail and he was Poppy to his granddaughters, Juliett and Abby, and is also survived by brother, Roseville, Lunenburg. He was predeceased by sister, Joyce Conrad and brothers, Douglas and Bernard. Cremation has taken place and a commttal service will be held in Heckman's Island Cemetery at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heckman's Island Cemetery.
