Eva Catherine Zinck 2001 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: November 22, 2001. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Eva Catherine Zinck, 86, Halifax, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 20, 2001, at the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born at Ketch Harbour, she was a daughter of the late James and Josephine (Flemming) Holland. She is survived by son, Aubrey, Halifax; daughters, Vanita (George Smith), Halifax; Joan (William Edmonds), Bedford. She was a loving and caring grandmother to six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey; brother, Francis; foster brother, Charles Flemming; sister, Eileen Johnson. Cremation has taken place in the care of J.A. Snow Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, November 23, in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Ketch Harbour, Rev. James Mallon officiating. Burial immediately following in Gethsemane Cemetery, Ketch Harbour. Reception to follow in St. Peter's Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII, or a charity of choice.
