    3. Herbert James Silver 1957 Bridgewater Bulletin The death of Herbert Silver occurred at the D.M. Hospital at Bridgewater at an early hour on Tuesday, July 23rd, after a lengthy illness, of the past two months spent at the V.G. Hospital, Halifax and the D.M. Hospital. Born at Hemford March 5th, 1872, he was the son of rhe late David and Ellen (Veinot) Silver. Living most of his life here with some time spent in the United States, he joined the C.N.R. as section man when the railway was built here at the turn of century, retiring at the age of 65. Mr. Silver took an active part in all community work and was an adherent of the United Church of Canada. He is survived by his wife, the former Lottie Wile, of Wilmot, Annapolis County, and six daughters, (Grace) Mrs. William Barkhouse, New Germany; (Ivy) Mrs. Allison silver, Nineveh; (Jessie) Mrs. Edward Turner, Simpson's Corner; (LaVerta) Mrs. Raymond Silver, Schieber, Ontario; (Evora) Mrs. James Pico ,Flin Flon; and Miss Jean, at home; one brother, Walter Silver, Hemford; and six sisters, (Dora) Mrs. Elmer Lincoln; (Hattie) Mrs. Uriah Varner; (Beatrice) Mrs. Aubrey Hurlbert, all of Dorchester, Massachusetts; (Ella) Mrs. Ford Wiles and Miss Jessie, Cambridge, Massachusetts; and Miss Winnie, at Hemford. Their only son, Harold, passed away ten years ago.
