OBIT # 8117 - EVENING NEWS - 17 MARCH 1960 Pine Tree- Charles Tupper passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar MacNeil here this morning. He was in his 87th year. He was born at Old Mines, Stellarton, and had lived at Pine Tree for the past 40 years. Before his retirement he had been foreman of the old Six Foot Coal Mine. Mr. Tupper was a member of St. George Anglican Church. He was twice married, and both wives predeceased him. He is survived by one son, Alfred, Pictou; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Carmichael, Saskatchewan; one step-son, Edgar MacNeil, Pine Tree; and two step-daughters, Isabel (Mrs. Jack Stewart), Laggan, and Mary (Mrs. Sam Stewart), Pine Tree; and ten grandchildren. The remains will rest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. MacNeil and the funeral will be held from St. George's Anglican Church on Saturday at 1:45. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery.
