Outlook - Thursday, 05 December 1940 - Page 4 - Walter S. Baker - There passed away to his eternal rest, November 23, Deacon Walter S. Baker, of Nictaux; born at Tremont 82 years ago. He was the son of Samuel Baker, Tremont, Kings Co. and Elizabeth Tupper Baker, daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Tupper. He was laid to rest in the Tremont cemetery, beside his former wife, Love A. Harris, and his daughter Lulu. Beautiful flowers covered his casket, the last tribute of love by his wife and children and granddaughter. Rev. Wilson, of Middleton, conducted the service at Tremont. The choir sang favorite hymns of the deceased, "Rock of Ages," "Sun of My Soul" and "Abide With Me." A beautiful solo. "The Christian's Goodnight," was sung by Mr. Frank Martyn. Those left to mourn their loss are his wife, formerly Euphemia Barteaux, of West Inglisville; his children, Maxwell Baker, Elizabeth Messenger, George Baker, all of South Natick, Mass., and Nathan Baker, of Canton, Mass.; also many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Calvin Baker, of Tremont. Deacon Baker united with the Lower Aylesford Baptist Church at the age of 15 and lived up to his pledge; always trying to help in every good work for the Spiritual Uplift of his comrades. Ever faithful, he was a loving husband and father. He will be missed by a host of friends. His daily prayer was for an early dismissal from the body, and an abundant entrance into God's Kingdom. Truly God answered his prayer for his faith never wavered. - (Berwick Register and Bridgtown Monitor please copy.) Find A Grave Memorial 145830668
