    3. Lossie L. MacKay 1942 Bridgewater Bulletin The community was saddened on Wednesday morning, July 22, when Lossie LeRoy MacKay was called to his eternal rest, after an illness of almost a year. Although a great sufferer he bore it with patience and fortitude. Born at Watford 53 years ago, he was a son of the late J.F. and Sarah (Fancy) MacKay. The early part of his life was spent in the United States, returning to his home in Watford three years ago. He leaves to mourn his loss a sorrowing wife, who before her marriage was Lavinia Silver and one son, Alvah, residing at home; two brothers, Jim and Kennie, at New Germany and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral on Thursday afternoon was conducted at the house and grave by Rev. C.H. Whitteker. The text was " God is not a God of the dead but of the living." The pall bearers were Aseph, Clarence, and Willie Silver, and Willie MacKay. A large concourse of friends followed him to his last resting place. The floral offerings were many and beautiful, testifying the esteem in which he was held.
