Winfred Emery Daurie 2006 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: June 23, 2006. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Winfred Emery "Wimpy" Daurie, 76, Northwest, passed away due to a stroke on Wednesday, June 21, 2006, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Northwest, he was a son of the late Emery and Olive (Keddy) Daurie. Winfred worked for over 40 years at Lunenburg Foundry and Engineering, Lunenburg, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg. He is survived by his wife, the former Marie Conrad; son, Charles (Barbara), First South; daughter, Tina (Bub) Risser, Lunenburg; brother, Lowell (Margaret), Front Centre; grandchildren, Tyrone and Taylor Daurie; and Matthew and Jordan Risser. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. A memorial service celebrating Winfred's life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Rev. Robert Brush officiating. A private family committal will take place in Northwest Baptist Church Cemetery, Northwest. Flowers from the immediate family only. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
