OBIT # 8124 - EVENING NEWS - 5 JAN 1961 Stellarton- Fraser Betts Urquhart passed away at his home here Thursday after a coronary thrombosis. He was 44. A son of Mrs. George Urquhart and the late Mr. Urquhart of New Glasgow, he had worked for 23 years at the New Glasgow Foundry and had been a petty officer, second class, in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Minnie Baigent; four daughters, Mabel (Mrs. Ronald MacEachern), New Glasgow, Joyce (Mrs.F. Weeks), Stellarton; Evelyn (Mrs. R. MacPherson), Trenton; and Shirley, at home; one son, Donald, at home; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. F. MacKay of Stellarton ; six brothers, Leander, George, William, Arthur and Clyde, all of New Glasgow, and Lawrence of Brookfield, Colchester Co. The remains are resting at the home at the corner of Poplar St. and Poole Ave., and the funeral will be held Sunday at 2;30 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, New Glasgow, with Major Garfield Hickman officiating. Interment will be in Brookside cemetery.
