Outlook - Thursday, 24 October 1940 - Page 1 - Mrs. Beriah S. Banks - The death of Mary Isabel Banks, widow of the late Beriah S. Banks, occurred at her home, Meadowvale, on Saturday, October 12th. Born in 1863, she was 77 years of age. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Harding Spinney, of Meadowvale. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William Bishop, of Lawrencetown and Miss Josephine, of Moncton, N.B., and one son, Norval, at home. Five brothers also survive, William of Fitchburg, Mass.; Norval, of Springfield, Mass.; Howard, of Beachmont, Mass.; Crawley, of Belmont, Mass., and Theodore, of Meadowvale. Her husband died only two months ago. The funeral service was held on Monday, Oct. 14, at the Lower Aylesford United Baptist Church, of which Mrs. Banks had long been a member. The Rev. C.W. Cook officiated. Pallbearers were Messrs. R.C. Armstrong, E.W. Neily, A.S. Jefferson and R.A. Thompson. Arthur sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and the choir sang the favorite hymns of Mrs. Banks, "Rock of Ages," and "Abide With Me." Interment took place in the family lot at Tremont cemetery.
