OBIT # 8238 - EVENING NEWS - 16 September 1963 Stellarton- A highway collision in Pittsfield, Maine, on the weekend claimed the life of a Stellarton native, Mrs. William Beaudry, the former Hilda Francis of Plymouth Park. According to word received by relatives here, Mr. and Mrs. Beaudry had left their Wallum Lake home in Rhode Island to motor to St. Stephen, N.B., to visit Mrs.Beaudry's father, William Francis, who had gone up from here last week to spend a short holiday with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Francis. As near as can be ascertained, they had stopped at a campsite Friday evening in the Pittsfield area. When leaving they were involved in the accident., and it is thought the other car hit on Mrs. Beaudry's side of the car as she had multiple injuries. Mr. Beaudry is not in serious condition but in hospital in Pittsfield. They were taken to the Pittsfield Hospital, and on Sunday Mrs. Beaudry was removed to a larger hospital in Watervale, Mass., but she failed to rally, and died Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Beaudry, who was in her early 50's, had gone to the states to train as a nurse and had worked there for many years at the Family State Sanatorium at Wallum Lake. She retired but a few weeks ago. Mr. Beaudry is an x-ray technician with the same hospital. Besides her husband she is survived by three brothers, William (Bill) at Lourdes, Edward, St. Stephen, and Harvey, California; two sisters, Vera (Mrs. Cliff Bain), Stellarton, Mildred (Mrs. Thomas Irvine), Halifax. Her mother predeceased her. Bill Francis, Mrs. Bain and Mrs. Irvine left Friday when the word was received. Funeral arrangements were indefinite but it is expected the funeral will be held at Wallum Lake.
