Ruby MacDougall Palmer 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Monday, July 10, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Ruby MacDougall Palmer, 90, Chester and formerly of Halifax, died July 8, 2000, in Shoreham Village Home for Special Care, Chester. Born in Chester, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Catherine (Whitford) Waddell. Ruby enjoyed needle work, travelling, and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are sons, Jim (Dorothy), Moncton; Donald (Celia), Ottawa; Dale (Joye), Chester Basin; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald; a sister, Ann; brothers, Owen, Howard, and Robert. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Home, Chester and as requested, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Chester United Baptist Church, Rev. Dan Green officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Camp Hill Cemetery, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Wing at Shoreham Village Home for Special Care, Chester.
