Samuel Francis Collicutt 2001 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Thursday, October 18, 2001. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Samuel Francis "Sam" Collicutt, 73, Canaan, died October 16, 2001, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born September 19, 1928, in Canaan, he was a son of the late Edward John and Margaret (Armstrong) Collicutt. He was employed for over 30 years as a caretaker for the late Mrs. Eleanor Pew at her Chester residence. Sam always had a smile and enjoyed a chat and sharing a friendly joke with everyone. He was a self taught man and was happy to share his skills with his grandchildren. Sam is survived by his loving wife, the former Reta Louise Stevens; son, Carman (Elaine), Canaan; daughter, Nellie Mae, Lunenburg; grandsons, Jamie and Ian Collicutt, Canaan; David Zinck and companion Nicole, Red Deer; granddaughter, Vanessa Zinck (Steven Rafuse); great-grandson, Quinten Rafuse, all of Windsor; sister, Evelyn (Chester) Hiltz, Chester; half-brothers, Vern (Barbara) Pulsifer, Truro; Austin "Toby" (Lois) Sode, Harvey Station, New Brunswick; half-sister, Irene (Matthew) Duncan, New Ross. He was predeceaased by half-sister, Gladys Sode. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday in Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Chester, Rev. Sean Taylor officiating, assisted by Pastor James Haughan. Burial in Sherwood Cemetery, Windsor Road. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Sherwood Cemetery Fund.
