OBIT # 8171 - CHRONICLE-HERALD - 16 October 1997 SWANSBURG (McCurdy), Eileen Alice - 70, Dartmouth, died October 15, 1997, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Welland, Ont., she was a daughter of the late Ervin Charles and Alice (Ladd) McCurdy. She spent her childhood in Middle Musquodoboit and Inverness. After moving to Halifax, she woked for 20 years as secretary at Acadian Bus Lines. She was a member of St. Matthew's United Church, where she was active with the Young People's Union, was a Cub leader and , for many years, was a Sunday school teacher. She belonged to the UCW units both there and at Staris Memorial, Dartmouth. Surviving are her husband, Lyall; dughter, Susan, Kingston, Ont.; brothers, Charles, Halifax; Gordon, Riverview, N.B.; sister, Ann (Mrs. Fred Davison), Abootsford, B.c.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Helen MacKichan. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday, in Snow's Funeral Home, Halifax. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Matthew's United Church, Rev. Dr. John Moses officiating, assisted by Rev. Dr. Leslie McCurdy and Rev. Fred Davison. Burial 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only.
