Roderick William Andrews 2002 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, November 26, 2002. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Roderick William Andrews, 76, Liverpool, died Sunday, November 24, 2002, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Born August 24, 1926, in Sydney, Cape Breton, he was a son of the late William and Emmelia (White) Andrews and stepson of the late William McAlpine. He served in the Merchant Navy from 1939-1945. He was later employed at Bowater Mersey in the construction department for 24 years, retiring on February 1, 1989. He is survived by his wife, Madelyn; son, Thomas (Linda), Stroud, Ontario; daughters, Cheryl (Harry) Kennickell, Liverpool; Catherine (Adrian) Arcieri, Toronto; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; step-sister, Delores Cooke, Saint John. He was predeceased by sisters, Margaret, Marie; brothers, George, Daniel. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 28, in Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool, Father Brian Murphy officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Queens General Hospital, St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery Fund or a charity of choice.
