Outlook - Thursday, 18 November 1954 - Page 4 - Inglis Wallace Welton - Meadowvale - This community was saddened to learn of the sudden death of one of its oldest residents Inglis Wallace Welton, on Wednesday, October 27th at the age of 86 years. He was a lifelong resident of the place, having been born here on August 18th, 1868, the son of the late Walter and Harriet (Banks) Welton. Mr. Welton was twice married, his first wife, the former Minnie Barry of Port Hawkesbury, Cape Breton, predeceased him. Of this union there were two children, a son Ernest, now living in Torbrook and a daughter, Minnie, who predeceased him in 1947. In 1917 he married Edith Petit, formerly of Hertfordshire, England, who survives him. There were two children of this union also, Willard at home, and Irene (Mrs. George Ross) presently residing in Florida, also two grandchildren, Frederick and Edith Ross; three sisters, Ccecilia (Mrs. Neily), Middleton; Blanche (Mrs. G.O. Palmer), Meadowvale, and Estelle (Mrs. Fred Taylor), Wilmot. Three sisters and two brothers predeceased him. The funeral was held from his late home on Monday, November 1st, conducted by Rev. C.W. Cook, a former pastor of this district. Hymns sung were a solo, "Some Day He'll make it Clear to Me" by H.M. Bowlby, "Abide With Me", and "In The Sweet By and By" were sung by the Tremont Choir. Interment was in the family plot at Tremont. Pallbearers were George Uhlman, Harold Baker, Howard Veinott and Alvin Foster. Find A Grave Memorial 146929020
