    3. Mrs. Clarence Brown 1946 Bridgewater Bulletin New Germany- Friends here were shocked to learn of the sudden death of Mrs. Clarence Brown, of Reading, Massachusetts, which occurred ar the D.M. Hospital, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, early on Wednesday evening. Mrs. Brown, accompanied by her young daughter, Lorraine, came to Nova Scotia some weeks ago and were visiting her sister, Mrs. Hallett Russell, New Germany. She entered hospital 13 days ago for a major operation and had made a satisfactory recovery and was about to leave the hospital to return to New Germany, when she suddenly collapsed and passed away within a short time. She was, before her marriage, Agnes Ramey, daughter of Mrs. Henry Ramey and the late Mr. Ramey of New Germany, and was 43 years of age. Surviving to mourn their loss is her husband; three sons, Douglas of the American Army; Tyler and Russell and one daughter, Lorraine; her mother in New Germany; three sisters, Inez, Mrs. Dean Bridges, of Tampa; Beatrice, Mrs. Corey Cail of Wilmington, Massachusetts; Mona, Mrs. Hallett Russell of New Germany; also five brothers, Swasey of Metheun, Massachusetts; Eldred, Lemage, Harris, and Tyler, all of New Germany. Mrs. Brown was of a kind and loving disposition and ready wit and had a host of friends who will mourn her passing, and who will extend deepest sympathy to the bereaved family. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon, with services at St. John's Anglican Church, conducted by the rector, Rev. W.H. Chard who delivered a comforting message from the text, St. John 14:2. "In my Father's house are many mansions, I go to prepare a place for you." Hymns sung were "Breathe on Me, Breath of God," "Abide With Me," and Softly and Tenderly, Jesus is Calling." Pall bearers were Willis Veinot, Leon Varner, Oran Woodworth, Percy Hupman, Arleigh Varner, and Daniel Parnell. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery, New Germany. The floral offerings were many and beautiful, testifying to the esteem in which the deceased was held by her many friends and relatives.
