Joseph A. Mossman 1939 Bridgewater Bulletin Death again visited the community of New Germany on Friday, September 15th., and claimed the life of one of its oldest residents in the person of Joseph A. Mossman. Mr. Mossman had been confined to his bed since last January when he fell and dislocated his hip. During this time he was tenderly cared for by his grand-daughter, Nellie. Born at Pinehurst 89 years ago, he spent the past 57 years of his life at New Germany. He is survived by one son, Hardy, with whom he resided; two daughters, (Mary) Mrs. Melbourne G. Leary, New Germany; and Sadie, widow of Howard Richardson of Dorchester, Maassachusetts. His wife, who before her marriage was Sarah Joudrey of Northfield, predeceased him seven years ago. Mr. Mossman was the son of the late Sarah and Daniel Mossman of Pinehurst. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at the home. Service was conducted by Rev. W.H. Palmer of the United Church. Interment was in Pinehurst Cemetery. Pall bearers were J.C. Veno, S.R. Jefferson, Ray Whynott, and Randolph Veno.
