Glenwood Solomon Oickle 1993 Bridgewater Bulletin The community of Upper Branch was saddened by the death of Glenwood Solomon Oickle, on August 18, 1993, at the South Shore Regional Hospital. Born at Upper Branch, April 24, 1916, he was the youngest son of the late Solomon and Della (Snyder) Oickle. He lived most of his life in Upper Branch, always ready to lend a helping hand to friends, neighbours, or strangers. He had an interest in his community, serving as trustee of the Lone Pine Cemetery for a number of years until he became ill. The road was long and filled with pain but he never gave up. May he rest in the sunshine of God's love and peace. He is survived by wife, Kathleen (Beck) Oickle; two daughters, Madelene Gaetz and Joan Silver, both of Upper Branch; two brothers, William, Lunenburg and Percy, New Germany; two grandsons, Sheldon Gaetz, Vancouver; and Timothy Gaetz, Golden. Predeceased family members are sister, Laurena; brothers, Llewellyn, Enos Doran, and Lester. Funeral service was held on August 21, 1993, at Corkum's Funeral Home, Pastor Jens Kjaer officiating. Organist was Lester Seamone. Burial was in Lone Pine Cemetery, Upper Branch.
