Muriel Evangeline Rippey 2002 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, November 26, 2002. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Muriel Evangeline Rippey, 88, Annapolis Royal, died November 24, 2002, in Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal. Born at Rose Bay, she was one of eight daughters of the late Captain Forman and Emma (Mosher) Mossman. She was a graduate of Lunenburg Academy and Mount Saint Vincent University. She was a member of St. George and St. Andrew United Church in Annapolis Royal where she was the former director of the junior choir; superintendent of the Sunday School; was active in the U.C.W.; a former member of the Board of Stewards and a member of the senior choir. She was a teacher for many years having taught in Rose Bay, Petite Riviere, West Gore, and Annapolis Royal, where in later years her focus was on high school mathematics. She had a tremendous sense of humour and a real love of music. She is survived by her son, Dr. David (Donna) Rippey, Stillwater Lake, Halifax County; stepgrandchildren, Scott and Kristy Walsh, Halifax; sister, Violet (Austin) Colquhoun, Sand Beach, Yarmouth County. She was predeceased by her husband, Max; sisters, Daisy, Amy, Marion, Frances, Rosa, and Vivian. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today in Robert L. Hall Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, in St. George and St. Andrew United Church, Rev. Alfred Woodworth officiating. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery. A reception will be held in the church hall following the interment. Donations in memory may be made to the Palliative Care Program,c/o Annapolis West Health Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or a charity of choice.
