Josephine Swim Maxwell 2009 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Wednesday, August 26, 2009. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Josephine Swim Maxwell, 93, Jordan Branch, passed away in Roseway Manor, Sandy Point, on August 25, 2009. Born in Lockeport in 1915, she was a daughter of the late Manton and Beth (Swim) Nickerson of Cape Island. Josephine was a survivor of the Halifax Explosion. She worked in a cannery for awhile but most of her life was spent being a homemaker. Surviving are her children, sons, Vance (Karen), Brian (Shirley) Maxwell, all of Jordan Branch; daughter, Jennie (Butch) Hogg, Barrington. She was predeceased by her husband, Vance Sr. and son, Dwight, Ontario. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Shelburne. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 28 at 2 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Chapel, Shelburne with Rev. Norma Mitchell officiating. Interment in Lake John Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Roseway Manor Fund or Anglican Church, Jordan Falls.
