Maude Ambrose Vey 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Monday, February 10, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Maude Ambrose Vey, 88, Queens Manor, Liverpool, passed away peacefully February 7, 2003. She was a daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Bigelow) MacPherson, Glace Bay. She was a graduate of Normal College, Truro. She taught in various schools in the Glace Bay area and Saskatoon and substituted in the Liverpool area. She was a member of the UCW of Zion United Church, a CGIT leader, president of the Ladies Division of the Liverpool Golf and Country Club and an avid bridge player. She is survived by her daughter, Judy, Liverpool; son, John (Chris), Falmouth; grandchildren, Jeff (Brenda) Foley, Kelly (Dennis) Oxner. Trevor Vey, Mark Vey, Allison Vey; great-grandchildren, Katie and Joel Foley, Christopher Oxner; sisters, Florence Hallett, Hull, Quebec; Gertie (Wilson) Drover, Sheet Harbour; brother, John S. MacPherson, Windsor. She was predeceased by husband, Arthur; sister, Lola; brother, Joseph. A private family service will be held at a later date.
