Howard Thomas Veinot 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Friday, March 10, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Howard Thomas Veinot, 95, Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, passed away March 4, 2000, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in The Forties, New Ross, he was a son of the late Enos and Agnes (Corkum) Veinot. After operating his own garage in The Forties in his earlier years, Howard moved to Ontario where he was employed as a mechanic at Ken Helen Motors, Toronto. He returned to Nova Scotia upon retirement. He is survived by daughter, Reta (Courtney) Reeves, New Ross; son, David (Sue) Veinot, Bradford, Ontario; daughter-in-law, Rhoda Veinot, New Ross; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife,Vera Hiltz; son, Roy; granddaughter, Maureen Lee Reeves; brothers, Joseph,Clarence, Otis, Edward, Wesley, Beecher, Harry, Guy, Frank, and Lawrence; sisters, Ella, Amy, Elsie, and Roxie. The body rested in Atlantic Funeral Home, Lower Sackville where the funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 8. Burial was in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
