Oscar Gullikson 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Monday, April 17, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Oscar Gullikson, passed away April 15, 2000, in the Veterans Unit of the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg, where he hd received loving care since May, 1996. Born in Inwood, Manitoba, he was the eldest son of the late Anna and Gustav Gullikson. He served in the RCAF during the Second World War. He rejoined the RCAF in 1951 and served until 1975 when he started to work at Michelin in Bridgewater. He was a member of Bridgewater United Church, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24, Bridgewater; the Michelin Retirees Club and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour. He is survived by his wife, the former Anne Murray; son, Jamie (Rachel), Ottawa; daughter, Shelley (Geoff), Halifax; sisters, Doreen (Joe Persoage), Marion (Dave McCulloch), Muriel (Don Perry); brother, Ralph, all of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by sister, Iva; and brother, Donnie. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bridgewater United Church, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. No flowers by request. Donations in Ozzie's memory may be made to the Veterans Unit of the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Bridgewater Food Bank. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
