Chester N. Wentzell 2002 The Daily News >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Chester N. Wentzell, 80, Three Mile Plains, passed away suddenly Tuesday, May 14, 2002. Born in Clearland, Lunenburg County, he was a son of the late Freeman and Ellen (Thompson) Wentzell. Chester had a great love for gardening and fishing. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and also served as a steam and diesel engineer with the Fundy Gypsum Company, oil tankers, and fishing draggers. He is survived by his companion, Bertha Zwicker; son Gary (Marilyn) Wentzell, Lower Branch; daughter, Marcia (Mrs. Darwin Ewart) Toronto; granddaughters, Anna and Sarah Wentzell, both of Halifax; sisters, Lois, Sydney; and Olive; stepson, Andrew Robinson (Sandra), Mississauga. He was predeceased by brothers, Ernest and George; a sister, Violet Spencer. Donations in memory may be made to the Salvation Army or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Lohnes-Beazley Funeral Home. Private family committal service will take place in Maplewood Cemetery.
