Marjorie Midge May 2006 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Marjorie "Midge" May - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Marjorie "Midge" May, 88, of Lunenburg, on September 25, 2006, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. A resident of Harbour View Haven, Midge was always a familiar face in the town of Lunenburg, having worked in the post office for many years. Over the years, she was actively involved in darts, bowling, and curling and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, Lunenburg. For many years, she volunteered her time to the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival and was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg. Midge will always be remembered for her zest for life, boundless energy, sense of humour, and most of all, her smile. Left to mourn are her special granddaughter, Liza (Niall) Macdonald, Dartmouth; daughters, Jan (Joseph) Ignatowski, Toronto; Judy (Jim) Gould, Kingston, Ontario; sons, Jim (Bonnie) Walker and Jim May, both of Hamilton; sister, Shirley (Roy) Pond, Dartmouth; brother, Armand (Audrey) Wigglesworth, Summerville; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Midge was predeceased by her husband, Warren May. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. A memorial service celebrating Midge's life will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg with Rev. Michael Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. Flowers from the immediate family only. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care.
