Eloi Sylvain Pothier 2004 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Friday, July 30, 2004. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Eloi Sylvain Pothier, 88, Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton, formerly of Wedgeport, passed away Monday, July 26, 2004, in the villa. Born May 20, 1916, in Wedgeport, he was a son of the late Sylvain and Madeleine (Pothier) Pothier. He was a retired lobster fisherman and was a veteran of the Second World War having served in Newfoundland. Surviving are brother, René (Christine) Pothier, Abram's River; sister, Elizabeth Anne (Lauire) Pothier, Wedgeport. He was predeceased by brother, Edgar; sisters, Kate, Emma, Yvonne, and Lillian. Visitation was held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Wedgeport. The funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. today in Saint Michael's Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Weslaw Papuga officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Saint Michael's Parish Cemetery Fund, Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac, or to a charity of your choice.
