Harley Warden Cleveland 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Monday, October 13, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Harley Warden Cleveland, 77, Western Shore, died October 11, 2003, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Aspotogan, he was a son of the late Warden and Olive (Backman) Cleveland. Harley owned and operated Bluenose Steel Placers for approximately 30 years and later a trucking and backhoe business for many years. He was very involved in his community as he initiated the Cubs and Boy Scouts movement in the area, sponsored and coached the local juvenile hockey team. He was very artisitic. He devoted his time to and decorated the Princess Float for the Western Shore District Fire Department Parade for 18 years. He and his wife, Leonore, operated the Island View Family Restaurant. He was an adherent to St. Mark's Anglican Church, Western Shore and a member of Masonic Norwood Lodge, No. 135, New Ross. Harley is survived by his wife, Leonore J. (Mosher); daughter, Natalie (Eugene) Corkum, Western Shore; sons, Wayde (Odette), Troy (Trina), all of Puerto Rico; Dwight (Theo and her children, Tiffany and Taylor), Western Shore; sister, Eva (Arnie) Peterson, South Carolina; Betty Hiltz, Lakeside; brothers, Neil (Marie), Mahone Bay; Earle , Windsor; grandchildren, Shane (Isabelle), Puerto Rico; Chantel, Carissa, Tabitha, and Kyle, all of Western Shore; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Marguerite Haines; brother-in-law, Percy "Tiny" Hiltz. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. in Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, in St. Mark's Anglican Church, Western Shore, Rev. Tom Kerr officiating. Burial to follow in Western Shore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Mark's Anglican Church Fund, IWK Health Centre Foundation or any charity.
