OBIT # 9477 - UNKNOWN PAPER - MAY 1948 Otter Brook - The funeral service for the late Mrs. Martin Smith was held in the Upper Stewiacke Church on Saturday, May 15. The service was conducted by Rev. Calder Fraser. The hymns sung were "Abide With Me" , "Lead, Kindly Light" and "Sun of My Soul". The pallbearers were Frank, Sidney and Roland Cox, Harry O'Connell , Archie Bentley and Allen MacKenzie. Mrs Smith was 82 years of age, the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Hugh Graham Cox of Otter Brook. She is survived by a daughter Bessie (Mrs. Lloyd Anthony), Upper Stewiacke; three sons Hugh in Milford, Fred in Truro, and Rod at home; five grandchildren, a sister, Mrs Edson Cox and a brother Grant Cox, Otter Brook. Her husband predeceased her several years ago. Interment was in Upper Stewiacke cemetery.
