Jean Elizabeth Aulenback 2006 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Jean Elizabeth Aulenback, 73, Wileville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on January 6, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Thelma (Beck) Crouse. Over the years, she had cared for many people's children in their homes, while raising her own family. She was always known for making sure everyone was happy and went home with lots of food if they came for supper. She was a courageous person and accepted every aspect of her illness with the attitude," I'll take it as it comes to me," and in doing so, never had a complaint. She will be sadly missed by all the people she has touched and became "Mom" to. She loved her pets and would not settle in for the night until every one was in her sight. She will be especially missed by her cats, Ewok and Winky, who never left her side during her illness and her last days. She will be greatly missed by all of her family, her son, Brian and daughter, Tracy,who kept her comfortable at home during her illness. Surviving are her son, Brian Aulenback and daughter, Tracy Wile (Danny), both of Wileville; grandson, Jason Aulenback, West Clifford; sisters, Donna Norwood (Tony), Baker Settlement; Shirley Crouse (Gerald), Bridgewater; brothers, Brian Crouse, Baker Settlement; Larry Crouse (Brenda), Ontario; son-in-law, Mike Weagle, Auburndale. She was predeceased by her husband, Everett; daughter, June "Mitty," sister, Glenice; brother, Donnie. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Baker Settlement, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Burial in Baker Settlement Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the S.H.A.I.D. Tree Animal Shelter, the Canadian Cancer Society or Veterans' Memorial Park, Bridgewater.
